character info

CHARACTER NAME: The Creature
CANON: Frankenstein (2025)
CANON POINT: end of da movie
POWERS:

— super strength, exactly how strong is unclear but he can push an entire ship back into the ocean after it was stalled out on ice
— faster healing, for example a razorblade cut healed almost instantly. other wounds that are more severe take longer, and sustaining enough damage will "kill" him ... up until his body is healed enough for him to reanimate.
— essentially immortal. will resuscitate from what would kill the average man. ex: being shot, being blown up by dynamite, being dropped into arctic water. he might not need to breathe. he does not seem to require food or drink like living flesh might, though he is capable of eating.
— enhanced endurance. the creature does not easily tire and is eternally sustained by his unnatural constitution. while he is capable of sleep, it seems less necessary for him than an average human. he can keep moving despite hunger, exhaustion, cold, etc.
— disney princess. animals, especially prey animals, are not threatened by his presence and in fact like to cuddle and hang out.

TOKEN: naurrrrr bro has nothing to take this is so meaaaaaan his wolf pelt coat ig so he cant be hidey

details

SUMMARY:
It awoke cold, strapped to a table, alone. It stumbled upon its maker just before dawn. It was given a single word — Victor. That word was the height of its understanding during that first difficult stretch of life.

The creature was kept in confinement. Unclothed, shackled to the floor. It failed to live up to expectation. Its lack of intelligence and language frustrated to no end. Belittled, abused, and resented, the creature still showed a spark of curiosity. Wanting to know more of the world. Reaching out to others in little ways. Obeying its creator, despite increasing aggression and resentment. Eventually, things came to a head. Victor demanded proof of intelligence. Another word. Even though one was delivered to his retreating back, it was not enough.

Deemed a failure, the creature was disposed of. The monster was able to comprehend its own abandonment. Finally pushed to free itself, the monster escaped into the ocean. Awoke in a whole new world. Cruel and unwelcoming, compelling and captivating all at once. The monster found shelter in the shadow of men. Learned, changed. Found kinship, however fleeting.

Upon realizing the manner of his make, and losing his only friend, the monster determined to find his maker. He pled for respite from his isolation. His creator refused, spurning him once again. Bereft of options, the creature turned to rage instead. Dedicated his life to making dear old dad as miserable as possible. Kinda had fun with it too. In the final hour, the monster forgave his shitty dad. Tasked with finding a way to live despite all the odds stacked against him. Easy for you to say, DAD... but I guess since dying isn't an option, the guy might as well give it a go.

CALLING:
The Creature's calling has changed depending on his current state of existence. His initial calling was to make sense of what limited part of the world he was aware of, while attempting to make connections with the people in his life despite a lack of language and cognitive development. His next calling was understanding the nature of man, and attempting to find a place in it. For a short time his calling was protecting and enjoying the company of his first and only friend. His next calling was to ask his father for a companion, and when Victor was a total tool about it, his calling was making his dear old dad miserable. At his current canonpoint, his calling is to try and find a way to live a life despite all the factors working against his integration into society.

Obviously, his calling is permeable. His motivations change based on his environment. I believe in this particular setting, his goal would be to connect with others if he can and help where he is able (as he did with the village). However he would also want to find some degree of freedom, and to decide what sort of life he wants for himself outside of his bitter resentment of Victor.

VALUES:
The Creature values kindness. Those that can see past his hideousness, and the unholy nature of his being. He values offering service to those in need when able. He values strength in character to admit wrongdoing and to seek forgiveness. He values the pursuit of knowledge and learning new things. He values physical touch and affection. He values the strength to forgive and forget, even though it took him a long while to manage it personally.

FLAWS:
Mr. Del Toro would say he has none and he is perfect baby. I would say that probably somebody with superhuman strength doesn't need to absolutely eviscerate humans when they attack him. Self hatred, suicidal ideation, though by end of movie he has no recourse but to LIVE... bro is not very forgiving, just ask Victor's nose. He has mild disdain for humans, especially men, and distrusts on principle. Being born sexy yesterday, there are occasionally times where he is absolutely unaware of social expectations or how to appropriately treat people. And dude definitely has a bit of an anger problem. If he decides a human sucks he is not afraid to fuck them up. He's also willing to kill those that get in his way when he's particularly set on an important goal, like messing with his dad.

FEARS:
Despite being invincible, the Creature still fears and despises violence, especially against the defenseless. He is afraid of his father's interpretations of him being correct, that he is nothing more than a mindless brute to be abandoned and exterminated. He fears rejection, be it for his appearance, character, or actions. He fears being truly alone, being the only one of his kind. He fears having to face an eternity misunderstood and reviled, and having to eventually lose anyone he ever finds fondness for. He fears being the only one of his kind, and the loneliness that requires. He is a bit claustrophobic after his daddy chained him to a damp floor.

MOTIFS:
Monster or man. Safety in shadows. Animal skin, degloved from muscle. Beastly ragged breath, a feral glint over dead eyes. Fresh picked flowers from a meadow. Disney Princess. Blood and broken bone. Cold sunk deep into flesh. Loneliness. The smell of a well loved book. Yearning for understanding, for companionship. Curiosity for the world. Innocence easily tarnished.

BONDS:
— Victor. His father and creator. His teacher and abuser. His master and his slave. The Creature has some pretty intense vibes with daddy dearest, and they fluctuated wildly over time. When he was newly made, Victor was all he understood of the world. He treated Victor with a trust that was soon betrayed through violence and mistreatment. The Monster is not grateful to Victor for his creation, and spent many years resenting him. Making personal sport in his suffering, for that matter. He had a grand old time letting Victor chase him around the world, living rent free in the guy's mind. At the end of Victor's life, the Creature did manage to forgive him — but safe to say his feelings for the man are complicated at best.
— Elizabeth. The first person the Creature met that ever showed him any kindness. They were kindred spirits, drawn to each other, both prisoners of circumstance. His fondness for her was deep and he thought of her much like an angel, too kind and not befitting the world she walked. Her death devastated him and the Creature blames himself and hates his father for her untimely death.
— The Friend. The old man the Creature befriended in the woods. He is blind, but astute. Realized that the Creature was living among his family, secreted to the shadows. He offered the Monster hospitality, companionship, education. He offered fatherly affection to a being that had never experienced it. The man taught the Creature much of the world, instilled a dangerous little dream that he may not be the only one capable of knowing and loving a being so hideous. He also taught the Creature the devastating pain of being left behind. The fleeting nature of human life in the face of his endless suffering.
— Humanity. The lack of bond with the entire human race has also been formative for the Monster. Men see him and assume the worst. He is often attacked and seen as terrifying, instantly reviled and despised. The Creature is fascinated by mankind, has gone out of his way to befriend them and help them when he can. And yet, years of pain and rejection has hardened his heart. For their inability to accept him, for the coldness of their hearts, for their predisposition for selfishness and violence. For every friend, there are hundreds that despise him without even knowing him. Without caring to. While a part of the Creature hopes for connection, plenty of him is already certain of the conclusion of getting too close to humans.

SERVITOR:
Uncanny in its beauty, the monster has beautiful, unblemished skin. Long red hair. A white dress befitting a bride of great beauty. From a distance, the servitor hardly looks a threat at all. The eyes of the servitor are bandaged and covered. Blood weeps from the bandage, seeping down delicate cheeks and a narrow throat. The bandage does not stop the blood from flowing, and the monster leaves a bloody trail in its wake. If the bandages are torn free or cut off, there are no eyes in the sockets.

Blinded, the monster reacts to sound. It is is shockingly undeterred by blade or abuse. Fed any noise, it approaches, and it will not tire or be deterred long. It is stronger than the frail body implies. It is not troubled by a lack of light, and will easily find those that try to hide. While it can walk like you'd expect a human to, it can also float like a ghost or skitter along walls. Think floaty ghost-y spectre. Those unfortunate enough to get close will note an unexpected stench of rot and necrotic flesh. The source is the mouth, the monstrous rotten insides. When it is close enough to seize a victim, the impossibly long hair can work as a snare, trapping limbs and tightening around throats to keep prey still. Sometimes it likes to go in mouths to pry them open, because why not have some Dark Water teas :) The monster takes plenty of time in weaving its web, rendering its victim entirely immobile. Affording a hero time, if they brave approach.

The beast is beautiful and yet rotten and dead on the inside. And it spreads its disease with a kiss. Well, it starts as a kiss. It goes to blackened bile quick, which is a bit less romantic. The poison is slow but devastating. Bodies begin to fail, blood goes black in the vein. Breathing gets haggard, broken. Victims will cough up blood and hair. Limbs become unresponsive, eyes start to bleed. Eventually, the heart will fail, the lungs drown in bile. The only respite is death. JK i think it'd be fine for it to be healed by some witchy cr... MAYBE BLOOD LETTING??? But for sure in the thick of a battle it is difficult to handle. And it could be fun to have the effect trigger after the worst of the danger.

The bride would rather infect many than stick it out and come to blows. It is somewhat weak in a 1-v-1, like if girlfriend lost her creepy hair and could no longer vore people with it. Messing with its ability to hear will weaken it dramatically. It can be tricked somewhat with sound. It will happily run tf away after fucking somebody up, to let the poison do the dirty work. It prefers to attack those the Creature has social linked. Because it is blinded, it is possible to hide at a distance, but in close proximity the need to like... breathe does give ppl away. When attacked and cornered, it will cry and cower, only to try and kamizaze puke on whoever is slashing when it gets the chance. Hacking off limbs could slow it down, but the monster's blood is toxic too, so be careful letting it in an open wound or on your face!!

The monster reflects the creature's fear of being disgusting, rotten, wrong inside. Its violence hidden by beauty earns trust the creature likely will never get because bro is so hideous. It reminds of the fickle, fleeting nature of humanity as it literally turbo rots the average man in an hour or two. It looks a lot like dead Elizabeth, and it was really sad when that happened. Weaponized affection that actually only corrodes is messed up for a poor little guy that just wants a nice head pat. The monster can trap and smother which reminds of baby days being shackled to the floor. And lastly, the bride would see the creature get his wish, to be left with only a monster. Careful what you wish for! She wants to be one with him, forever, isn't that what he wants???
